From an early age, I learned the resilience of the human spirit. As a baby, I suffered severe burns from a scalding accident. While fortunately, I don’t remember that day, I grew up with the scars as a reminder of my survival. Growing up in a strict religious environment, I developed the courage to forge my own path.
My passion for the arts began as a child, starting with singing in church and at school. I began performing in numerous venues across the region. My dedication led to appearances on national television, where I was chosen by the iconic Patti Labelle to represent Philadelphia on NBC’s “Clash of the Choirs.”I also appeared on the “Living it up with Patti Labelle” holiday special, performing alongside Patti Labelle, Donnie McClurkin and Deborah Cox.
I completed my Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Temple University and a Human Resources (SHRM-CP) certification. I now have several years of versatile experience in Human Resources across various industries.
I am on the board for the Young Caribbean Professional Network and have done career planning and HR career workshops. Currently, I volunteer as a peer supporter for a burn survivor organization.
My journey is more than survival- it is a living testament to courage, hope, and transformation. My scars do not define me, they illuminate my strength. By embracing my story, I hope to empower others to rise above their own challenges and live life boldly, on their own terms.
